The Program

Academic rigor with freedom, personalization, and community.

At Lab Academy, every student follows an Individual Learning Plan designed together with their family and tutors. Our goal is that each young person develops fully, with a solid and flexible academic pathway that opens the doors to universities in Spain and around the world.

Institutional Clarification on the Daily Academic Structure

Lab Academy adopts a structure of three daily academic blocks based on scientific evidence and international educational quality standards. Research in cognitive neuroscience and academic performance shows that longer, continuous blocks promote sustained attention, memory consolidation, and deep understanding. Comparative studies in Europe and the United States indicate that sessions of 70–90 minutes allow between 25% and 40% more effective learning time compared to fragmented schedules with 6–8 short classes.

Independent reviews also highlight that adolescents experience a significant improvement in concentration when daily transitions are reduced, lowering executive load and stress associated with frequent classroom and subject changes. Leading educational institutions that work with block scheduling report higher attendance, reduced cognitive fatigue, and a noticeable improvement in the quality of academic work.

Lab Academy’s structure is complemented by individualized guidance, personal projects, creative workshops, and community life activities, creating a balanced model aligned with current European recommendations for secondary education: less fragmentation, more focus, stronger support, and a learning environment that fosters depth and wellbeing.

For all these reasons, three daily academic blocks are not only sufficient—they represent an efficient academic distribution, consistent with available evidence and appropriate for students’ holistic development.

Extracurricular activities

Lab Academy students can participate in extracurricular activities that integrate academics with life: theatre, music, sports, photography, urban gardening, and volunteer projects. These are an integral part of learning—not “extras,” but spaces for expression, coexistence, and personal growth.
